Sergio and Socorro
faithful ministers in the Ministry of Evangelism
Reynosa, Mexico
HOW WE BEGAN AND WHAT WE DO
In 1990 we began ministry in Reynosa, Mexico, teaching in a Bible School in the colonia Las Cumbres. It was a wonderful experience to work with the young couples and to see them grow in Christ. Three of these couples have helped to start churches; two are pastoring, and the third continues working in Reynosa in our Ministry of Evangelism. We pastored La Princepe de Paz Church in Reynosa for sevaral years. In 2006 we moved our base of operation from Reynosa to Galeana in the Sierra Madres, making it possible to minister to small villages that have no current ministries in place, and to train local native pastors for these villages.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God to man today, both the old and new Testaments; and the rule of interpretation of Scripture to be the infallible Word of God itself. We believe that god has revealed himself as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost and his purpose for the creation of man was to establish an eternal relationship with men which was broken by the fall of man through his disobedience and sin; thus the need of redemption for man, this redemptive work being part of the eternal plan according to the foreknowledge of God.
We believe in the Deity, incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; His vicarious atonement for our sins by the shedding of His blood on the cross; the literal resurrection of His body from the tom; His ascension into he4aven, and His personal, imminent return when He will judge each believer according to their works. We believe in the Deity of the Holy Spirit who is at work in the world today through the believers who are the body of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in justification of the believer by grace through faith; the daily work of sanctification by the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer predestinated to be conformed to the image of Christ and the literal resurrection of the believers who die in Christ who are His bride and will rule and reign with him. We believe in a literal heaven for the redeemed where they bow and worship before the throne of the eternal God and we believe in a literal hell prepared for the Devil and his angels.

MISSIONS STATEMENT
• As believers we are to fulfill the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Matt.28:18-20: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto
me in heaven and in earth. God ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Mark 16:15-16: “An he said unto them Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
Acts 1:8: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
• To preach the gospel:
I Corinthians 15:3,4: “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
• The message of His soon return:
Titus 2:13: “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”
• To all the world: Acts 1:8.
• By using all available resources to bring Him honor and glory.
Colossians 1:18: “And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence.”

TRAINING AND PREPARATION OF NATIVE MINISTRIES

PREPARATION
• For his training, that it might equip him and effectively prepare him for the mission field.
• For God to give him a vision and a deep love for the people he is trying to reach.
• That he would be willing to pay the price of suffering, hardship, persecution, and possibly even death, in order to reach them.

INITIAL ENTRY
• For his ability to learn a new language quickly and fluently.
• For sensitivity to show respect for the culture and lifestyle.
• That he would win the peoples' trust and love.
• For acceptance by the people and permission to live among them. Pray for favor with the local government authorities, village chief, or elders and leaders of the community.
• For no governmental restrictions to be placed on him, such as signing an agreement not to convert people or strictly limiting his activities to social work, education, or research.
• For wisdom when there are restrictions, and for courage when he must obey God rather than men.

EVANGELISM
• For freedom and opportunity to share the gospel.
• For his ability to understand their way of thinking and culture; to find the best way to present the gospel to the people he is trying to reach.
• For God to confirm the preaching of His Word in such a visible way that people clearly understand that He is the true and living God: answering prayers, radically transforming the lives of those who receive Jesus, setting people free from demonic bondage and addictions, and healing the sick.

DAILY NEEDS
• For his willingness to live like the people, in the clothing, food, and housing.
• For faithfulness among those supporting him, that all of his financial needs might be met.
• For good health. Pray for protection from diseases, and for his adjustment to the climate and poor living conditions.
• For protection from dangers: travel accidents, wild animals, anti-Christian fanatics, or opposing witch doctors.

PERSONAL/SPIRITUAL NEEDS
• That he would keep a good testimony. Pray for protection against being overtaken by sin, or disunity among his co-workers.
• That he would maintain a close personal walk with the Lord; for consistency in studying God's Word and in prayer.
• For endurance: not permitting fear, discouragement, loneliness or lack of success to affect his commitment to the mission field.
• For faith that God will confirm His Word, and that all things are possible with Him.
• If the missionary has a family, pray for their adjustment, health, children's education, furlough time, and for their willingness to give up their own way of life to serve and win the people to whom God sent them.
• For protection from demonic oppression and attacks on his physical and spiritual life, family, and ministry.

FRUIT
• For churches to be planted throughout the are where he is working.
• For the new believers to be faithful to Christ, become strong in the Word and bold in sharing their faith.
• For God to raise up more missionaries from among the new believers that he wins to Christ.
